At Kern River Valley Recycling Center, we take recycling to the next level. We’re not just a CRV buyback center because we gladly accept
most non CRV items too; such as, office and mixed paper, newspaper, cardboard, tin cans, and plastics 1-7. Most items will carry a recycling symbol designating it as a product that can be recycled.

Unfortunately there are some items, like Styrofoam and plastic bags, that we simply can’t accept right now because there are no available markets. As soon as these items are able to be recycled we will notify all of our customers.
In addition, we also have a recycling program that allows you to earn $20 in Trash Cash just by recycling your CRV items with us. We will track the total CRV weight you bring each visit and once you have recycled a total of 500 pounds of CRV items, we will award you with a $20 Trash Cash certificate. Trash Cash is redeemable towards any service offered by Thomas Refuse Service. The Trash Cash Recycling Program is our way of thanking you for your recycling efforts.

VISITING OUR RECYCLING CENTER:
We invite everyone to visit the Kern River Valley Recycling Center to drop off their recyclables and learn more about keeping recyclables out of our landfills. Whether you are a pro or a first time recycler, our friendly staff will assist you with all of your recycling needs and questions.
Our center is located at 2000 Chain Ave in Lake ISabella, next door to Thomas Refuse Service.
Recycling Hours
Tuesday thru Saturday
8:30 am to 4:00 pm
Closed Daily from 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm
Recycling Preparation Tips:
- Separate recyclables by type
- Plastics by number
- Glass by color
- Remove all lids and labels
- Rinse out containers
- Remove contents and flatten boxes
Other Recycling Rules:
- Children under the age of 12 must remain in the vehicle
- All recyclers must be wearing shoes
- Animals must remain in vehicle, except for guide dogs
- Please have your I.D. ready on any sale of scrap metals or sales over $50.00
- All CRV receipts must include printed name and signature
